On December 12th, 2011, Cultural Affairs Officer Carina D. Klein of US Consulate General Shanghai Delegation visited our college and lectured on relevant questions .President Li Shuming and Foreign Affairs Office Director Prof. Gu Mingdi met them cordially.
President Li introduced the history of our school, the dominate discipline and important internationalization strategies, as well as the cooperation with University of Minnesota and North Dakota State University in the United States at present. He also expressed the wishes to establish relations with famous American enterprise. Mrs. Klein introduced the efforts the Public Affairs Office made in order to push official education between China and The U.S. and cultural communication in eastern China, and introduced the application of the International Visitors Project, Fulbright Exchange Programs, the United States Speaker Project, and Global Exchange Programs. She wanted to promote the development of these programs in our college so that more teachers and students can benefit from them.
Mrs. Klein donated more than 200 English books to the China-U.S. Cooperation office and gave a presentation to the students and teachers. She also explained some questions that students were concerned about such as: how to choose and apply U.S. universities? How to apply for US Visa? She answered many various kinds of questions with respect to study in The U.S.
