President Li shuming Got The University of Minnesota, Crookston, The Torch & Shield Award
Oct, 27th 7:00 AM (American time Oct, 27th 6:00 PM), President of the University of Minnesota, Crookston campus Mr. Charles Casey bestowed the University of Minnesota, Crookston Torch & Shield Award for 2011 to the President of ZJETP, Dr. Lishuming. Dr. Lishuming is the first international personage to receive this prize.
The highest honor given by the University of Minnesota, Crookston, the Torch & Shield Award will celebrate the leadership of four individuals who have aided in the development of the Crookston campus. President Mr. Lishuming keeps promoting the education cooperation between the University of Minnesota and ZJETP. He signed a cooperative agreement with the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
This agreement established ZJETP-UMC’s joint English as a Second Language (ESL) program. Two joint programs in agriculture business and computer software technology have already educated more than 200 students. And more than fifty graduates have gone to the United States for further education. The Study Abroad in China has already offered more than fifty American students a chance to learn Chinese, Chinese culture, society and economic development.
In short, after several rounds of selection, the University of Minnesota bestowed President Li Shuming the Torch & Shield Award to commend his extraordinary contributions to the international education communication field.
